The long journey to find my passion for overall health and well-being
I have been searching for my passion and purpose for a very long time. My journey to become a Heath Coach felt exactly how it felt when I was looking for the love of my life to finally arrive. It happens when the Universe decides it's time. That's how I look at it. I did find the love of my life and I did find my purpose. Looking back, it's like I should've just taken all the clues that were right in front of me. I majored in psychology in college. I was fascinated and loved studying human emotions, feelings, connections, needs & desires and I learned to listen. Listening to people and developing relationships continues to be a passion of mine.
My introduction to understanding and relating to individual bodies came through my love for yoga. I became a certified yoga teacher in 2009. My authentic self did not vibe with being a yoga instructor but, more in the breath work, the calming nature and flow and stretching that came to me during my own practice.
In my quest to find a purpose, I stumbled upon IIN (Institute for Integrative Nutrition). Over 6 years ago, I called them, got pretty excited about enrolling but, the timing wasn't right. In 2020, during peak COVID times, I decided to jump on it. The course is a one year program and by the time I was done, my kids (4 & 6 years old) would be in school full time so I would be able to start a career that means something to me. IIN gave me every bit of information I was craving and the drive to make something I'm passionate about, a career.
Throughout the years, I have paid attention to and continue to crave information on health & wellness. But also, as a human, I have my own struggles and difficulties with feeling good all the time. Having tools to dissect my feelings around food and cravings, I have been able to maintain a healthy body weight and feel mostly good (progress over perfection).
I truly believe all the stars aligned to bring me where I am today. I cannot wait to add more clients to my programs, to help them with their individual needs in respect to their minds and bodies, and to encourage friends and family to find their own journey towards a healthier lifestyle with my help. Together we can make good choices and work toward a health revolution.
Future blogs will include information on current health trends, including supplements, diet, and exercise. Blogs will also include healthy tips, recipes, personal stories, and answers to questions you may have regarding health, meditation, finding joy, self-care, time-management, & overall wellness. These are all topics that surround health and have to power to make us feel better overall. My mission is to to help clients find balance, bring back energy and find what it means to each individual to feel good inside and out.
What does being healthy mean to you?
If you struggle with guilt, the need for instant gratification, or the "I don't have the time"mantra in your head, I can help you. I can relate as a wife, mom, friend and someone who understands that each body is different and needs nurturing of it's own kind. By the time you are done with one of my programs, you will be on your way to aligning who you want to be (future) with who you are (present).
